“The top 10 burning questions about Lip Filler”
It’s a fact...lip filler treatments still have this “fake looking" “Duck Lip" stigma., and to some extent this is true !
I have many, many clients who rock up with pictures of lips they DO NOT want ! And that’s ok, I also have clients coming from other practitioners and are unhappy with the treatment outcome. Helloooo stigma.
This is where “knowing your practitioner is absolutely vital....it in effect will save your beautiful face girl.
So let’s get to it ... what are the main questions people are burning to know about lip filler.
1. Will I get the result I want?
Every single person is different and lips present in all different shapes and sizes. Speaking to your practitioner in depth before any needle even goes near your lips is ...well the most important thing . This way you can discuss goals and eexpectations.Take pics in of your fave celebrity if you must, any good Injector will explain what’s achievable.
2. What if my filler goes wrong?
It can happen to anyone. The trick is, again that detective work of scoping out your practitioner beforehand. Theres a few questions you should ask before making your treatment decision. Is this practitioner confident in rectifying any complications, have they shared what will happen if I did get a complication? What are the reviews from other clients?
3. Is lip filler reversible ?
As long as what’s being injected is not a permanent/silicone filler and the base is hyaluronic acid, them absolutely. A solution called Hylouronadaise is mixed and injected into the lips to dissolve the filler. But this would only be used as a last resort ... not as a quick fix, so make sure that when/if you do get lip filler, that it’s something that your doing for you and you’ve thought hard about.
4. How much does lip filler cost?
This very much depends, usually on the actual filler brand that is used, there are really cheap ones and then there are premium brands. My personal preference...always go premium, these fillers tend to last longer, usually have a substantial amount of science backing them up and mold better into the natural fluid of the lips. After sampling many brands of filler ,my go to is Teosyal RHA range and Juverderm.
5. Why are my family and friends trying to talk me out of having lip filler ?
Back to the top we go........ the “stigma”. Non surgical aesthetics has come such a long way over the last few years, but some people just struggle to shake that perception off....and that’s ok...it doesn’t have to be for everyone ... whilst family and friends may have your best interests at heart, ultimately your confidence and your happiness is totally your choice.
6. Can I have filler but still have a natural result?
Absolutely... not everyone likes the fuller look ...that’s the beauty of these treatments, they can be adapted to suit you.
7. When my filler starts dissolving will my lip skin be saggy and stretched ?
The only time the lips may not return to their natural state, is if too much filler is put in at once or over time you over fill. I personally dont feel bad about putting clients on lip filler bans, I do it regularly to be honest, most of the time less is more. The aim mainly, is to look younger and refreshed with a little plumage maybe! Practitioners need to learn to say no more .
8. Does it hurt?
If I pinched you and then pinched somebody with the same amount of pressure...the likelihood is that you would both perceive discomfort slightly different. Topical numbing cream is like gold, it helps to minimise any discomfort and makes all treatments totally tolerable, let’s also bare in mind, these treatments dont take long at all, I little pinch with a big impact I’d say.
9. Will my lips need topping up after so long?
We spoke earlier about Hyaluronic Acid not being permanent, over a period of anywhere between 4-9months (depending on brand of filler) your filler begins to naturally break down. So yes they will require a top up. From experience I find that the second treatment of filler tends to last that little bit longer.
10. What should I do before getting lip filler?
First and foremost, make sure you are dead certain about the treatment . Then get on the hunt, find the practitioner who is producing work you love, has rave reviews and is approachable to talk about your desired lip.
They were the most asked questions of which anybody thinking of lip filler needss to know . Thank you for reading.
Hopefully we will meet face to face one day but if not ... take care and thank you again.
